Thanks, Zoe!

Zoe (and anybody else reading this),
That was really encouraging. I hope you don't mind me answering on a post either! But I just have so much to say!
For one, I just wanted to tell anyone reading this, life isn't easy, especially if you are a Christian. I myself have questioned God many times...one of those biggest times being last December, the week before the spelling bee that my mom had entered me in. I was frustrated and didn't want anything to do with anybody or anything. One day, two days before the spelling bee, I picked up my Bible, hoping that I would find somewhere that said that parents should treat their kids nicely. (I was in a really foul mood, as you might have gathered.) Instead, I found a verse that calmed me beyond words. I was crying angry tears in my room, and could barely see the words on the page. Suddenly, a short verse jumped out at me. It was Psalms 18:29--"With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall."
You see, I was nervous about the spelling bee. But when I read this verse, an indescribable calm descended on me. God had spoken to me through that little short verse. That one verse just spoke volumes to me. And what really hit me was that God was trying to tell me that I was going to be okay, and that being in a spelling bee isn't the end of the world. And loe and behold, when this year's spelling bee rolled around, I used that verse to calm my fears. (And Zoe, boy am I gonna need it come February!)
Anyway, I hope that someday that a little verse will speak volumes to you, like Psalms 18:29 did for me.

That is good! I know the feeling. God shows me verses all the time when ever I feel stressed out about something or just flat out feel like nothing is going the way I want it to. The two verses I put are just two examples. The last one I put (John 15:18-19) especially. Because I sometimes feel discouraged about being different from everyone else and not fitting in. I know that it really doesn't matter though, even though it's hard.

You're welcome. That was a great post, by the way. I want to let you know that I will be praying for you when you do the next spelling B, even though I will be out of town.
God has a reason for everything... remember that.

This verse also came to mind...

Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom

I felt like I was supposed to type that post, but it was funny how it sat in my draft folder for a week (I'm not kidding)! I am glad I finally decided to post it and not delete it!

This has also made me realize that when God says to do something... DO IT!

Yeah--I mean, it's hard being in a youth group where you are one of only two or three people who doesn't go to a public or private school! Sometimes it is really discouraging.

I have never heard of that verse! It is amazing what God does sometimes. But this time I am NOT going to win the spelling b. I am sorry, but I am not. Even though I have to go, I am NOT going to win. Mom thinks I am! Well, not really, but sorta. She is talking about all the money I would win and stuff, and I just thought "well, who cares about money when you have family and friends?"

I bet! My situation is different from yours... most of the people in my youth group are homeschooled, but I just don't fit in.

I guess God has something planned for the three oddballs-Zoe, Ellie, and Nikita/Cherish!

I really like that verse too! I love the way that God can show you something you never expected and it jumps out at you. It really hits you in a way that is really unexplainable. I love just flipping though my Bible and reading random pages and learning many new things. It really helps me grow closer to God.

I used to do that, but now I like to flip through Hebrews.

I like Hebrews a lot too. I really like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Romans, Matthem, and 1 and 2nd Corinthians a lot also.
